Laban Aphrodite

Somehow I really liked the look of Labans fountain pens and inks, so I knew I had to get one. I decided to try Aphrodite first, because I bought a fountain pen named Venus a while ago.

Irgendwie mochte ich die Laban Füller und Tinten direkt als ich ihnen das erste Mal begegnet bin. Dass ich eine Tinte haben musste war direkt klar, und weil ich einen Füller mit Namen Venus habe, wars schnell offensichtlich, dass Aphrodite bei mir einziehen darf.

The ink comes in a glass bottle, with 50 ml. It’s a reddish pink color, rather dark and muted. Maybe its more on the brown side too, reminding me of rusty things although no orange is visible in the color. I think coral could describe the color well too. In the big swap I couldn’t see any sheen or shimmer. Instead there’s a lot of shading going on which I really like. The lighter parts of the written text seem to be rose, and the difference to the darker parts is very good visible.

Die Tinte wird in einer eckigen Glasflasche mit 50ml Inhalt geliefert. Die Farbe ist eher rötlich als pink, noch dazu dezent und dunkel. Vielleicht geht es auch mehr ins bräunliche, irgendwie werde ich an rostige Dinge erinnert bei dieser Tinte, obwohl gar kein orange vorhanden ist. Auch Korallenfarben sind passend. Im großen Tintenklecks konnte ich keinerlei Sheen oder Shimmer entdecken. Stattdessen zeigt die Tinte ein sehr schönes Shading, das ich wirklich sehr mag. Die helleren Bereiche der Schrift sind rosefarben, die dunkleren stechen deutlich hervor.

In my Visconti fountain pen the ink was rather dry, I’m not sure yet if this is comes from the fountain pen or the ink. I will update this text after trying the ink in another pen. But there was a negative point: while researching which inks I’d like to try I somehow thought this ink would be more pink or more rose colored. I’m not sure why I thought like this, maybe because of “PINK” written below the name. This is not pink, this is red.

In meinem Visconti Füller war die Tinte eher trocken, ich bin mir aber nicht ganz sicher, ob das nicht vielleicht vom Visconti Füller kommt. Ich werde diesen Text updaten, wenn ich die Tinte in noch einem weiteren Füller getestet habe. Ein negativer Punkt ist aber defintiv, dass ich irgendwie erwartet habe, eine Farbe zu erhalten, die eher pink ist. Ich weiß nicht genau, warum ich das dachte. Vermutlich weil auf der Flasche unter dem Namen “PINK” steht. Ich finde, das die Tinte rot ist und nicht pink.

But don’t get me wrong, I really like this color. The shading is awesome and the color pretty unique. I like that its so muted, I really enjoyed using it for a while in my diary and I will keep my bottle.

Versteht mich aber bitte nicht falsch, die Tinte ist wirklich toll und ich mag sie sehr gerne. Die Farbe ist einzigartig und vor allem das dezente auftreten mit dem dann kräftigen Shading gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich hab sie gerne in meinem Tagebuch genutzt und werde die Flasche natürlich auch behalten.
